Tom began his career in the accountancy and tax relief industry in 2012, bringing a wealth of experience to a broad range of tax-related and accounting matters.

His expertise ranges from the preparation of statutory accounts to the provision of bespoke consultancy services for Research and Development Tax Relief. Tom excels at integrating his consultancy skills with his ability to codify and productise various tax reliefs, enhancing the accessibility and cost-efficiency of these services. He is particularly adept at identifying commonalities across different services and delivering solutions that maximise value for businesses of all sizes.

In 2025, Tom brought a landmark Freedom of Information case against HMRC, successfully securing a tribunal order requiring HMRC to disclose whether it had used AI in R&D tax credit assessments. He is now a recognised voice on the ethical use of AI in the R&D tax relief industry.

Now based in Colorado, he has developed a keen interest in helping US businesses establish UK subsidiaries and maximise the tax reliefs available to them.

Outside of his professional life, Tom is an avid sportsman. He enjoys a diverse array of sports, including surfing, triathlons, skiing, and mountain biking, actively participating in each.
